Surrounded by some of the country's best known driven shoots, we work to replicate the atmosphere of a day's live game shooting, in and out of season.

The shoot's 500 acres occupy prime Chalke Valley real estate. On clear days, it is possible to see Dorset and Hampshire, as well as Wiltshire, from the morning drives. Looking out across stunning panoramic views, you are greeted by a diversity of flora, including native orchids, and a rich panoply of wildflowers.

The farm rolls from hilltop to valley floor in an unbroken patchwork of fields and hedgerows, covering a mixture of traditional arable crops, and livestock.

The Team

Lord & Lady Congleton

John, the 9th Baron Congleton, is a keen sporting man. He and his wife Annie are delighted to be able to share the glorious landscape of their farm and heritage with guests. From the morning's briefing over coffee, to lunch in the dining room, John and Annie's warmth and joy in entertaining guests shines through. They are involved in every aspect of shoot days, working closely with Howard to make each day effortless fun for their guests.

Howard Day

Howard got his start beating on shoot days at the tender and impressionable age of 4, and hasn't spent a season out of the field since. His unparalleled knowledge of both sides of the beating line (not to mention 130+ days on shoots in the season) help him to present clays that so closely resemble live quarry, as to seem almost winged and feathered.
